Abstract

It is challenging to meet new people and build relationships as a newcomer at work, especially when everyone else already knows each other. Building relationships and rapport is even more challenging in a virtual workplace, especially as a temporary intern. This project focuses on how newcomers navigate rapport building in a virtual work setting based on data gathered from a remote summer internship in a local organization in Philadelphia.
